PLEASE NOTE:
RED ALERT BOX UPDATED 3/1/2021 9:30 AM
There has been some inconsistency in the message for whether those in quarantine are poolees or recruits. After speaking with the CWO2 Yarbrough at the Communication Strategy and Operations (CSO) office at MCRD Parris Island, we will be referring to those in quarantine as POOLEES. CWO2 Yarbrough told us the Marine Corps wants a clear distinction between those in quarantine and those in training. Poolees in quarantine are in a more relaxed environment without Drill Instructors. Poolees will become recruits after stepping on the Yellow Footprints. We are currently updating the pages on our websites that refer to poolees in quarantine to ensure the message is consistent.
Poolee Quarantine: Hotel Address
Where do I send letters to my poolee during Quarantine?
In the phone call your poolee makes to you upon arrival Quarantine, s/he MAY give you an address for the 2 weeks of quarantine. The quarantine address will NOT include a platoon number. BE ADVISED: In some locations, they are NOT providing an address for mail during the two weeks of quarantine, but your poolee can write to you.
KEEP PEN AND PAPER BY YOUR PHONE:
To assure you get the address from your poolee when he calls you upon arrival to Quarantine, keep a pen and paper with your phone. You'll want to write down the address. The call will likely be scripted. They talk fast. Be ready!
CALLER ID MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE:
When your poolee calls you, the caller ID may be blocked on the phone calls you get during Quarantine (and boot camp). Check the setting on your cell phones to make sure you aren't blocking calls without a caller ID.
IF YOU DIDN'T GET THE ADDRESS FROM YOUR POOLEE:
If you did NOT get the information from your poolee and you have already received the phone call, contact his/her local Marine Recruiter who MAY be able to get the address to you.
FOR RECRUIT PRIVACY AND TROOP SECURITY:
Please do not share the address or phone number for the quarantine location in our group as comments or asking for or sending a PM to members. Keep our troops safe!
