What's After Boot™ (WAB) is an online support service from MarineParents.com. We provide information plus a Place to Connect & Share® for parents, spouses, friends and family members of newly-graduated Marines. This service will help answer some of the questions you may have about what to expect after boot camp graduation as well as connect you with Official MarineParents.com Facebook Groups and online communities

10 Day Leave

The next phase of training after boot camp is SOI, or School of Infantry. Your new Marine is entitled to one day of travel and ten days leave after recruit training. Your new Marine may report to SOI early in order to save leave if desired.

Recruiters Assistance After Boot Camp Graduation

While on leave, Marines may be selected by the USMC for participation in the Permissive Recruiter Assistance Support Program (PRASP).

School of Infantry (SOI)

All graduates of Marine Corps recruit training attend the School of Infantry. At SOI, they will train with one of two training battalions, either MCT or ITB. All non-infantry Marines attend training at Marine Combat Training Battalion (MCT), while infantry Marines (all Marines with an MOS of 03xx) attend training at Infantry Training Battalion (ITB).

Military Occupational Specialty

After Graduation from ITB/MCT, Marines will attend schooling for their chosen MOS, or Military Occupational Specialty.
